Signe Westerberg is a lifelong resident of the Liverpool area.
She is a successful business owner with her office in the Liverpool
CBD.
Signe has seen the changes -
good and not so good - in Liverpool throughout her lifetime, and she
has a passionate appreciation of the potential of the area. Seeking
to make a difference, she stood as an Independent at the 2008 Local
Government elections. She is a local representative on environmental
and planning committees.
Signe joined the Greens after extensive research on their
platforms, their charter and their politics, and she realised
that in nearly every case they worked for the same things she
had worked for as an Independent.
She is considering standing as a candidate for the coming Federal
Election. She is involved in a number of environmental and community issues, and
is especially concerned for the residents of Liverpool she feels
have been taken for granted for too long by their local Members.
"I know the issues faced by people living and working in
Liverpool, and have lived here in periods of vast change and
challenge for people raising families and working and building their
own businesses. I will continue to pursue what I believe will be in
the best interests of our community"
If successful in being elected to a local office in the future,
Signe promises to work unstintingly to promote the very best of the
area and ensure that local residents have representation that is
prepared to put in the hard yards.
