Local Greens activist -
Lindsay Langlands
Lindsay Langlands is working for the Greens as they attempt
to win representation in the Fairfield area. Lindsay stood as Greens
candidate for Cabramatta in the 2008 by-election, taking almost 10%
of the vote in our best result ever for the seat.
Lindsay has
lived and worked in
Fairfield for more than thirty years. She has been a staunch advocate for the
less advantaged in the area, and is recognised for her community
service work.
Lindsay has run many highly successful social programs, and has featured in a
number of high-profile media appearances. She was also an adviser to the
producers of the feature flim "Little Fish" set in the streets of
Cabramatta. Lindsay is very passionate about social justice, and has a strong
desire to see all humans treated equally regardless of their status
in life. She understands and promotes the values of family,
friendship, good principles, transparency, truth and honesty. As a
Grandmother to three young children, she wants to see the area a
safe, productive, and progressive place for them to grow. She
is currently contemplating standing for election again in 2011.
"I am very keen to see
Fairfield issues overseen and managed by
people who are experienced in having lived their life at a grass
roots level," Lindsay says.
"I want to know that the
people representing the area are doing their best to
ensure the hard earned dollars I pay in rates and taxes are spent wisely and
used appropriately to improve every aspect of the area and
environment in which I reside."
If elected to local office, Lindsay will continue to work hard for the people of the Fairfield
area to ensure they see the benefits of having a working party
member, at work for the working man.
